South & Central America witnessed a 4.4% rise in IT hiring activity in the pharma industry in September 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics dashboard.
September 2022 has seen a decrease of 1.31% in the overall hiring activity when compared with August 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 4.54% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in September 2022, registering an increase of 0.35% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in September 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 29.55% in September 2022, an 18.18% rise over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 27.27% in September 2022, marking a 71.43% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 25% in September 2022, a 175% rise from August 2022.
Computer Support Specialists registered a share of 11.36% in September 2022, a flat growth over the previous month.
Top five pharma companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in September 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 81.25% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s pharma industry during September 2022 over previous month.
Eurofins Scientific posted 10 IT jobs in September 2022 and registered an increase of 11.11% over the previous month, followed by AstraZeneca with 6 jobs and a flat growth. Hypera with 5 IT jobs and Johnson & Johnson with 4 jobs, recorded a 25% rise and a 33.33% rise, respectively, while Syneos Health recorded a flat growth with 4 job postings during September 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s pharma industry
Costa Rica commanded a leading presence in the region’s pharma industry IT hiring activity with a 40.91% share in September 2022, a 63.64% increase over August 2022. Brazil featured next with a 38.64% share, up 54.55% over the previous month. Argentina recorded a 6.82% share, a drop of 70% compared with August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.91%, up by 16% from August 2022. Mid Level positions with a 20.45% share, registered a growth of 125% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 13.64% share, down 14.29% over August 2022.
