Enter a New Dimension of X-Ray Diffraction Analysis

Malvern Panalytical is ready to unveil a revolution in the world of X-ray diffraction. It proudly presents the company’s new third-generation Empyrean diffractometer and the newly developed MultiCore Optics.

Multipurpose X-ray diffractometers (XRD) are advanced instruments offering the possibility for many different applications, each of them requiring a special instrument configuration. Dedicated optics must be attached manually by an operator with specialist knowledge.

With the introduction of the new MultiCore Optics, Empyrean is now taking an evolutionary step towards a new concept for such a multipurpose XRD platform. Join this webinar to be among the first to find out what a difference an intelligent diffractometer can make.

This webinar will take place on 11 July from 16:30 (GMT+1:00) to 17:30.

Speaker Fabio Masiello studied Physics at the University of Turin (Italy), followed by a PhD in Physics and Material Science from the Universities of Grenoble and Turin while working at the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF). Fabio then joined PANalytical in 2011 as Application Specialist XRD, in Almelo (the Netherlands). From 2012, he has been the product manager responsible for the Empyrean diffractometer.

This webinar is a great opportunity to get insight into the new Empyrean diffractometer and to see how Malvern Panalytical has simplified the concept of a multipurpose platform. Everyone who is interested in the latest developments of optics and X-ray diffractometers is invited to attend. You will learn all about the new MultiCore concept, allowing you to switch between different applications in a completely automated fashion.

Applications of Light Scattering and Intrinsic Viscosity Detectors with Size Exclusion Chromatography SEC in Characterising Biopharmaceutical and Other Polymers

The Applications of Light Scattering and Intrinsic Viscosity Detectors with Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC) in Characterising Biopharmaceutical and Other Polymer Products webinar will provide a quick introduction to the basics of ultraviolet (UV), differential refractive index (dRI), multi-angle light scattering (MALS), and intrinsic viscosity detection for SEC.

Applications covered will include the determination of molecular weight by UV, dRI and MALS; measurement of the degree of PEGylation with UV, dRI and MALS; and elucidation of structural and hydrodynamic properties using intrinsic viscosity (IV) and MALS.

This webinar will take place on 17 July from 10:30 GMT-5:00 to 11:30.

Guest speaker Brent Kendrick is the vice-president of research and development (R&D) at Elion Labs, a Division of KBI Biopharma.

Scientists that work within biopharmaceutical development, protein/polymer characterisation, PEGylation, analytical development or process/product characterisation should attend to receive a useful introduction on the structural and size characterisation of biopolymers and polymers by size exclusion chromatography.

Polymer Testing with a Laboratory X-Ray Diffractometer

Are you interested in quality control of your polymer production? Are you doing structural characterisation of new materials? Are you working with granulates, foils, fibres or 3D-printed solid objects? Then this webinar is for you.

XRD is one of the most important analytical techniques for polymers and composites characterisation. It allows you to get information on:

  • Composition (qualitative and quantitative)
  • Crystallinity
  • Thermal stability
  • Particle size (nanometre to millimetre range)
  • Orientation
  • Distribution of pores and inclusions in solid objects

The Empyrean diffractometer allows you to combine various XRD methods of in situ and non-destructive testing on one laboratory platform.

This webinar will take place on 18 July from 10:30 GMT-5:00 to 11:30.

Malvern Panalytical’s X-ray diffraction and polymer experts Dr Natalia Dadivanyan PhD provides anyone who is working with or is interested in polymers and would like an overview of the X-ray characterisation methods, including their benefits and limitations, an opportunity to get insight into modern ways of polymer characterisation using laboratory instruments.

Attendees will learn how to perform:

  • Fast and easy quality control tests for foil, fibre and composite production
  • Advanced polymer characterisation at ambient and non-ambient conditions
  • Non-destructive testing

Demo at Your Desk: The Aeris X-Ray Diffraction Benchtop

Meet Malvern Panalytical’s new X-ray benchtop diffractometer Aeris during this live web seminar.

Aeris will impress you with data quality and speed of data acquisition so far only seen on full-power systems. The instrument is accessible for everyone with its built-in touchscreen and intuitive software.

Being a Malvern Panalytical product guarantees delivery of the best benchtop data and full automatability for industrial applications. Aeris is designed for low cost of ownership and is available in four editions, tailored to the needs of the cement, minerals, metals and research markets.

A live question and answer session will conclude the presentation.

This webinar will take place on 24 July from 10:30 GMT-5:00 to 11:30.

Speaker Olga Narygina studied physics at the Ural State University in Russia. After completing her master thesis on high-pressure, high-temperature studies of carbon nanotubes, Olga moved to Bayerisches Geoinstitut at the University of Bayreuth in Germany to obtain her PhD degree.

Her work there focused on high-pressure, high-temperature research of iron-containing silicates and alloys. This was followed by a post-doc position at the University of Edinburgh in the UK, where Olga carried on with the material property research at extreme pressure-temperature conditions with the focus on the structural properties of alkali metals.

In 2011, Olga joined Malvern Panalytical as an application specialist XRD in Almelo, the Netherlands.
