MicroCal DSC range

The MicroCal DSC range contains two high-quality MicroCal PEAQ-DSC microcalorimeters designed for analysis for the regulated environment. These powerful devices enable the characterisation of thermal stability for proteins and other biomolecules, primarily for biopharmaceutical development and manufacture.

 

Used for general stability studies, biosimilarity, batch-to-batch comparability assessment, and the optimisation of purification and manufacturing conditions, MicroCal PEAQ-DSC systems are simple to use. In addition, they require little assay development or immobalisation, and have no labelling requirements.

The two devices, MicroCal PEAQ Manual and MicroCal PEAQ Automated, are differential scanning calorimetry instruments for use in the regulated biopharmaceutical environment. The automatic version has an autosampler for hands-free operation and eases the workload in cases where lots of samples need to be screened. The manual version offers equal performance, reproducability, and minimal sample consumption for laboratories that need to analyse fewer samples.

Both instruments use MicroCal PEAQ-DSC software, containing four special modules:

 

  1. PEAQ-Compliance for 21 CFR Part 11 compliant operation and data analysis
  2. PEAQ-Performance to ensure optimal system operation
  3. PEAQ-Smart (including PEAQ-Finder) for standard operating procedure (SOP) based operation and automated analysis
  4. PEAQ-Compare for direct comparison of DSC thermograms between molecules and batches respetively
