Selecting appropriate sites and investigators for a clinical trial helps ensure that the correct patients are enrolled in a timely manner. Drawing on its past work with specialists in many therapeutic areas, APICES has created an investigator database to help sponsors select the best investigators for their trial projects.

Our recommendation is to carry out a Feasibility Study when the project is at planning phase, before any sites have been selected or contacted, to answer some key study questions.

APICES supplies customers with an initial listing to select the targeted site or investigator for each project; these investigators are then given a questionnaire to give details on the patient selection, protocol difficulties, any past trial experience, competing studies in project development, the suggested budget for each patient, and any other relevant information the sponsor needs.

Once the questionnaire has been completed, the customer may be given a report listing the evaluated investigators for final selection. Qualification visits can also be carried out to confirm and validate the selected site and investigator.
